Is it possible to mine the coins?
Minter uses the consensus algorithm called DPoS (Delegated Proof-of-Stake), which is validated by providing a pledge (stake), including the funds that users delegate to the masternode. Rewards can be received by validators and BIP owners who delegate the coins to validators. The mechanism of distribution of rewards and examples are available in the white paper
